For CARE International, a renowned humanitarian organization of more than 12,000 people, Vision 2030 was not just a statement but a transformative force. It revolutionized operations at every level and changed the very DNA of the organization.
On a mandate from the Secretary-General and the National Directors, I directed teams at global, regional and country levels in adopting new operational, funding and program strategies. I collected and used data from across the organization, building a culture of fact-based decision making. I managed a cultural shift towards one of accountability to local implementation partners and communities.
The changes I implemented reached operations in 100 countries, bringing decisive improvements to program quality, KPIs and fundraising performance. These improvements were of crucial value when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The resulting focus and agility led to additional USD 200m in funding and 126 million more people getting vaccinated.
