AI regulation debate has been dominated by big tech companies, think tanks and government actors. This leaves out most of the private sector, from small and medium enterprises to Fortune 500 firms. In Switzerland and Western Europe this problem was particularly pronounced.
On a mandate from an initial group of Swiss companies in the financial services and wealth management space, I used my network to create a coalition of CEOs committed to contributing to the AI regulation debate and to using AI safely and effectively in their organizations.
I set up the organization in a matter of two months, attracting more than 50 CEOs from the biggest organizations in Switzerland and Europe. I secured for the organization (“Executive AI”) a seat at the table in the EU AI Act discussion and standardization process. I attracted close to USD 5.5 million in funding, mostly from private actors, and hired an initial team of research analysts and AI experts. This has given the member organizations much clarity on the AI regulation process and an ability to influence it, as well as adopt best practices.
